Welcome Team Volunteer
Overview :
The Welcome Team Volunteer is the initial point of contact the public have when entering the Heritage Centre and is responsible for the efficient collection of admission fees.

Constructed on the former site of the Grand Junction Railway Works, we’re now home to iconic locomotives and an impressive collection of artefacts that celebrate the past, present and future of Crewe.
Our team of dedicated volunteers are passionate about inspiring our visitors’ curiosity in the people, businesses and engineering marvels that call Crewe their home.
The responsibilities of the Welcome Team Volunteer are:
Engage with customers in a positive and friendly way and ensure that they pay the correct admission fee.
Process cash and card payments.
Cash up at end of day with the duty supervisor.
Understand and implement the admissions policy.
The security of the Welcome desk.
The operation of the main gates on days when the Heritage Centre is open to the public.
Ensure that health and safety regulations are met.
Reporting any urgent issues to the Duty Supervisor.
Qualifications :
Commitment to excellent customer service.
Good interpersonal skills.
Good knowledge of the Heritage Centre.
Good communication and numerical skills.
Training :
The Welcome Team Volunteer will be expected to undertake training as required, paid for by the Heritage Centre.
