Lets get STEAM back on the Miniature Railway

The miniature railway has had diesel. It has had passengers. It has even had enthusiastic volunteers pretending not to miss steam...

But let's be honest.

We all miss Jenny.

For two seasons our favourite steam locomotive has been waiting patiently for a boiler overhaul, and now we're launching a mission to get her back in steam.

Because trains are better with steam.

The miniature railway is better with steam.

And Saturdays & Sundays at Crewe Heritage Centre are definitely better with steam.

Help us raise £6,000 to overhaul Jenny's boiler and keep her steaming into the future. Together we can bring back the sights, sounds, smells and smiles that only a steam locomotive can create.

Every donation helps. Every share helps. Every supporter helps.

Let's get Jenny moving again.

Help Get Jenny Back in Steam! The miniature railway just isn't the same without Jenny our resident steam locomotive!

For the last two seasons, our much-loved steam locomotive, Jenny, has been silent while she waits for a major boiler overhaul. If you've visited Crewe Heritage Centre recently, you'll know there's been something missing.

No hiss of steam.

No smell of hot oil and coal smoke.

No drifting clouds of steam.

No steam locomotive.

We're on a mission to raise £6,000 to bring our steam locomotive, Jenny, back into service and secure the future of steam on our miniature railway.

Thanks to Joshua's fantastic fundraising through his Cheshire Railways Challenge, and generous donations received in memory of Peter Barnard, who helped establish Crewe Heritage Centre, work has already begun. But there's still a long way to go, and we need your help to get Jenny, our steam locomotive, back on the tracks where she belongs.

Jenny's story began long before she arrived at Crewe Heritage Centre. Originally started by renowned miniature railway engineer Roger Marsh, the locomotive was later completed by Cliff Smith and a group of friends who worked tirelessly to finish the beloved engine. After Cliff's passing, the locomotive found a home at Crewe Heritage Centre and was renamed, Jenny, where generations of visitors have enjoyed rides behind her.

Today, Jenny is more than just a locomotive. She's part of the Heritage Centre family.

But this appeal is about more than Jenny.

It's about bringing steam back to the miniature railway.

The sight of a working steam engine, the sound of the exhaust beat, and the smell of steam and oil are all part of the experience that visitors love, and volunteers are passionate about preserving.

Your support will help:

·         Steam returning to our loved miniature railway

·         More opportunities for volunteers to learn and operate steam locomotives

·         Preserving traditional railway skills for future generations

·         Keeping the magic and heritage of steam alive at Crewe Heritage Centre
