Open to Visitors: FREE Admission Day

From big locomotives to miniature adventures, there’s loads to see, do and experience at Crewe Heritage Centre!

Climb aboard for a ride on our miniature railway, then check out the impressive detail of our model railway layouts. Explore the powerful stories of the past in the Crewe at War exhibition and through our iconic objects including the Whitby Morrison Ice Cream vans.

Get up close to real railway giants, including the 8000th locomotive built at Crewe Works and the record‑breaking APT‑P. Head to our elevated viewing platform for unbeatable sights of the West Coast Main Line & Chester Line. And discover how trains were once controlled through our historic signalling displays.

Make the most of your visit with a trip to our shop, relax with refreshments in the café, and let younger visitors explore, play, and learn in the Kids Activity Area.

Join us for a fun, action‑packed day celebrating Crewe’s unique story!

Today we are joined by Butterfly Conservation as part of Crewe Town Council’s Spring Festival of Fun. Butterfly Conservation will be running FREE Butterfly and Moth Workshops at 10.30am and 1.00pm. You will also be able to make your own origami butterfly!
